Mersing is the name of the town and district in the northeast of the State of Johor, Malaysia. This district has an area of 283,847 Hectares.  Now there are increases in population with the availability of Industrial Training Institute, Sultan Iskandar Science Secondary School, Camp Iskandar a military camp and 2 National Service camps in Sekakap and Teluk Sari.

 

There are 10 mukims in the District of Mersing. Here is a mukim in the Mersing District together with the chain of islands which is Mukim Mersing including Pulau Batu Chawan, Mukim Triang including Pulau Lalang, Mukim Tenglu including Pulau Setindan and Pulau Gajah, Mukim Penyabong including Pulau Pelandok, Pulau Mawar & Pulau Puchong, Mukim Tenggaroh including Pulau Kerengga and Pulau Lilang, Mukim Jemaluang including Pulau Belunak, Mukim of Islands, Mukim Padang Endau, Mukim Sembrong and Mukim Lenggor.

 

Mersing Land Office initially operating in the Government Building at Jalan Ibrahim, now houses the Mersing Office of Agriculture and Mersing District Council. Later in 1972, the Mersing Land Office was moved to a new building which is on the Ground Floor, Government Offices Complex, Jalan Ibrahim, 86800 Mersing Johor

 

This administration is governed by a Head of Department, known as Collector Of Land Revenue, which is now called the Master Of The District Land Administrator. At the beginning of the new administration at this new building, Mersing Land Office consists of several main parts, which is Administration Division, Grace Division, Settlements Division, Registration and Revenue Division.

 

In 2000, Mersing Land Office have made a working papers for the Development of Personnel Restructuring. While in 2007, the restructuring of all district Land Offices in the State of Johor have been approved and there are six (6) main part which is Financial & Administration Division, Land Development & Disposal Division, Registration Division, Enforcement & Revenue Division, Legal Division, Information Technology Division.

Based on the restructuring of the Department, this organization looks more structured, orderly and much easier for the management movement of Mersing Land Office. This administration, always upholding the work ethic to achieve a standard of honor ordered to the Department, mission and vision that has been drawn up.
