The sub district of Rengit is the administrative district of Batu Pahat and managed jointly by the Municipality of Batu Pahat. It is located about 40 km from Penggaram town, bordered by the district of Minyak Beku in the West, the district of Sri Gading and Kluang In the North, Pontian District on the east and south of the Straits of Malacca.
Sub-District area of Rengit is estimated at 100.8 square miles or 64.512 acres and is divided into 3 sub-districts, namely Kampung Bahru, Sungai Punggur and Sungai Kluang where every district is governed by a Chief. The sub district of Rengit comprises of 31 villages and two of which are Bumiputera Village (indigenous). According to the census in 2000, the population of this small area is about 36,059 people.
In general, the land here is flat and with the type of white clay, black clay and peat, and most of them are the agricultural land
